Officer Baez took on the role of a "real life 'Crocodile Hunter'".
'Do not try this at home,' says the official warning on this video. And while that may be good advice, it's hard to imagine many people trying what this cop pulled off in a video shared on Facebook. Posted on the Cocoa Police Department, it shows a Florida police officer removing a baby alligator from a flooded high school yard using his bare hands. The video will leave you both squeamish and impressed.
According to the post shared on October 13, Officer Xzevies Baez responded to a call from Cocoa High School and found out about the baby alligator. Instead of calling in or waiting for a professional handler, Officer Baez took on the role of a "real life 'Crocodile Hunter'" himself.
The video shows him standing in knee deep water, patiently waiting for the right moment to seize the little reptile. And then, wham! He can be seen putting his inside the water and pulling out the struggling gator like it was no big deal.
Since being shared, the video had collected over 25,000 views and some 500 reactions.
"Good job, thank you for letting it go and not hurting it!" says one Facebook user on the video. "I LOVE the background music and crowd cheering!" says another.
