The dog, named Jack, is doing much better now.
The Bakersfield Fire Department in California, USA, rescued a pet dog from a house fire yesterday and earned all of the Internet's love and praise. A video of a fireman, identified by the department as Fire Engineer Matt Smith, walking out with the unresponsive dog, Jack, was shared on Facebook. It has been viewed over 5.5 lakh times in just 24 hours. According to the fire department, little Jack was unresponsive, with semi-agonal respirations, when he was rescued from the house.
The video shows the firefighters reviving the little dog with specialized animal oxygen mask and high flow oxygen as his concerned owner looks on. Within a few minutes, Jack regains consciousness. Watch the heartwarming clip below:
According to the department, the BFD Firefighters also transported Jack to a local veterinary clinic for follow-up assessment and treatment. And even though the pup suffered some respiratory tract injuries and burns to his feet, he is doing much better now.
