Eight year old Ripa Das looks mighty pleased at having her ears pulled. In this photograph posted on the PM's website, Ripa beams as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, standing behind her, seems to tweak her ears.
Ripa was presented with a bravery award on Republic Day. The child from Tripura saved her baby brother from a fire that had engulfed their home last year.
Her mother, who was in a room with her sleeping one-year-old brother had run out alone in fright when the fire broke out. The eight-year-old girl emerged from the burning house with her brother in her arms.
During his trip to Japan last year, PM Modi had tweeted another photo in which he stood holding the ears of a little boy at the Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) Temple in Kyoto.
PM Modi does seem to enjoy doing that. And the kids do too.
