At one of the sites in Paris where thousands paid homage to those killed in the Friday terror attacks, a Muslim man stood blindfolded, asking for a hug.
And Parisians hugged him back. Many were choked up as they embraced him.
Standing near Place de la Republiques, the man had placards with a simple message.
"I did this to send a message to everyone. I am a Muslim, but that doesn't make me a terrorist. I never killed anyone," he tells everyone. "I want to tell you that 'Muslim' doesn't necessarily mean 'terrorist'," he adds.
Through the day, he is hugged by strangers. At one point, a little crowd gathers around him.
As the video ends, it is hard not to feel overwhelmed.
"A terrorist is a terrorist, someone willing to kill another human being over nothing. A Muslim would never do that. Our religion forbids it," he explains. No one could have illustrated it better than this.
