India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the ICC mens Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday

The World Cup 2023 match between India and New Zealand in Dharamshala saw the presence of several political leaders including Union Minister Anurag Thakur. During the match, Mr Thakur was bowled over by a heartwarming placard held up by a young cricket fan. The minister was so impressed with the inspiring placard that he decided to post an appreciation message for the boy.

The Union Minister took to X and shared a picture of the boy named Iryaksh Aggarwal. In the picture, he is seen holding a placard that says, ''One day I will play for India. Remember me.'' The minister praised the boy's enthusiasm and his determination to play cricket for India in the future.

Sharing the picture, Mr Thakur wrote, ''Absolutely heartwarming to see young Iryaksh Aggarwal's determination and dreams. Awaiting your journey eagerly from placard to the pitch! Nurture your dreams, and together, we'll watch them grow into reality!''

Internet users were also impressed with the boy's confidence and determination. One user said, ''Absolutely you will play for India little champ keep hard-working….God bless u.''

Mr Thakur also shared a hug with the captain of team India, Rohit Sharma, after their win against New Zealand. He posted a video of the same and wrote, ''Champion vibes only!  Celebrating with the legend Rohit Sharma after Team India's stellar World Cup triumph over New Zealand!''

Notably, India beat New Zealand by four wickets in the ICC men's Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday.  It was Mohammed Shami's five-wicket (5 for 54) haul that helped India restrict New Zealand to 273 despite Daryl Mitchell's 130. In the chase, Rohit Sharma's 46 provided India a superb start before Virat Kohli's well-knit 95 stole the show. India hunted down the total in 48 overs.
