Additional District Judge VK Lal, on the basis of dying declaration of the deceased Veeri Singh, the motive of the accused, medical report, post mortem report and witnesses, sentenced Fauran Singh and his relative Pinki to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each.

"The convicts would undergo for further imprisonment of two years in case of default in payment of the fine," the judge said in the ruling delivered on Monday.

Fauran Singh, Pinki and juvenile Ganeshi, son of Fauran Singh, (all residents of village Nagla Hansi) were named in the FIR filed by Pratap Singh, the son of the deceased, alleging that all the three had set his father on fire.

The attackers doused Veeri Singh with petrol and then set him on fire on April 26, 2005 on the outskirt of the village when he was going to ease himself as he was not repaying the loan of Rs 4,000 taken from them.
