Leh:
Scores of tourists in around 200 vehicles were on Saturday stranded in Ladakh when a landslide struck an area at Durbuk, about 200 km from Leh, officials said on Saturday night.
Army is providing relief and medical assistance to the stranded people, the officials in Leh said, adding the exact number of tourists affected was not immediately known. There were reports that 400 people may be stranded.
The landslide is reported to have struck between 3 and 4 PM.
Efforts were underway to clear the affected road to make way for the vehicles.
