A man was arrested by Maharashtra Police from Naihati area of North 24 Parganas district for allegedly sending a threatening SMS to a Bhojpuri film actress demanding Rs 15 lakh from her, police sources said on Saturday.
Maharashtra Police with the help of local police arrested Ajay Kumar Pandey from Naihati, the sources said.
Pandey had allegedly sent a threatening SMS to Bhojpuri film actress Rani Chatterjee asking her to pay Rs 15 lakh otherwise she would be killed, they said.
After receiving the SMS, Chatterjee lodged a police complaint. On the basis of Chatterjee's complaint the police arrested Pandey.
