Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: An 11-year-old boy was beaten up for allegedly stealing 30 kg of wheat and forced to drink urine in a village in Bareilly.
The family of the victim claimed that police did not register their complaint initially. But when they approached SDM of Mirganj Medha Rupam, an FIR was lodged. The two accused were arrested and later released on bail, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Yamuma Prasad said.
The incident took place on Tuesday, the SP said. Circle Officer, Mirganj, Manoj Pandey said a probe will be held to find why the FIR was not registered promptly in such a serious matter.
