Puducherry: Puducherry Welfare Department has reduced the age limit for widows, destitute women, unmarried women and eunuchs under the scheme for receiving monthly assistance under its welfare scheme.
As per the rules for eligibility for pension, it has been fixed at 55 years for both men and women from the present 60 years.
The monthly assistance is Rs 1000 and is subject to enhancement from time to time.
The annual income of the applicant seeking the assistance should not be more than Rs 24,000, a press release said.
