Amaravati: The headmaster of a government school allegedly committed suicide on Saturday morning, a day after he was questioned about missing stock of rice supplied to the institute under nutritious diet scheme, police said.

Vijay Nakashe, a resident of Arjun Nagar here, hanged himself with a rope in his house, they said, adding no suicide note was found.

The 45-year-old was the headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school at Dharni attached to Semadoh Panchayat Samiti.
