Steel City Experiences Hottest Day Of Season

Jamshedpur: The steel city and it's neighbourhood on Saturday experienced the hottest day of the season with mercury crossing the 45 degree Celsius mark. The temperature has been hovering well over 40 degree Celsius for last few days.

The maximum temperature recorded at 45.1 degree Celsius,the highest in last three years, while the minimum temperature was registered at 23.7 degree celsius on Saturday, Met office said.

The maximum temperature was five degree above normal, it said, adding that on Friday, the temperature was at 43.6 degree celsius.

The streets of the city wore deserted look during day time as people preferred to remain indoors.

Even the schools have rescheduled their timing and the classes were over by 11.30 am.

East Singhbhum district administration has made adequate arrangements to supply water in tankers in areas facing acute water problem while power supply was also reported erratic in some areas.
