A Trinamool Congress leader and another party worker were seriously injured after being shot at by miscreants at Kamlabari of the district, police said today.
35-year-old Safikul Biswas and 30-year-old Estajul Sheikh were returning home on a motorcycle after attending a party meeting at Englishbazar town convened by local MLA Krishnendu Choudhry last night when about seven bike-borne miscreants attacked them.
While youth Trinamool Congress leader Safikul suffered injury on his hand, Estajul was injured on his throat, police officials said, adding that both were admitted to a nursing home.
Two persons were arrested in this connection.
