Patna:
Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United JD(U) on Wednesday suspended two of its MPs for six years for anti-party activities, a party leader said.
Purnmasi Ram from Gopalganj and Jai Narayan Nishad from Muzaffarpur were suspended by party president Sharad Yadav, JD-U spokesperson Sanjay Singh said in Patna.
Purnmasi Ram was suspended after he praised Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad, convicted by a special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Ranchi on Monday for fraudulent withdrawal of money from the exchequer in the fodder scam.
He had also demanded action against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging that he too was involved in the fodder scam.
Party leaders said Mr Nishad, on the other hand, was suspended for praising Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Last week, the JD-U suspended its legislator Chedi Paswan for meeting Mr Modi and praising him.
