Patna:
In a shocking incident, a man was pushed out of a running train in Bihar today by a railway official after he refused to pay a bribe. He died on the spot, police said.
The incident occurred near the Pursauli railway station in Kaimur district when the victim, Sarvesh Rai, had a heated exchange of words with a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) on the New Delhi-Puri Purshottam Express over his luggage.
Mr Rai reportedly refused to pay a bribe for the extra luggage which angered the TTE who then pushed him out of the train.
The Government Railway Police, however, said that the reason behind the incident was being ascertained.
The incident comes just two days after a man was thrown off a train in Bihar allegedly by a TTE and an escort party of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) after he failed to produce a valid ticket.
Sources in the Government Railway Police (GRP), on Saturday, said that Rakesh Kumar, a native of Nalanda distric, died on the spot after he was thrown off the Ranchi-bound Pataliputra Express on Friday evening.
The family of the victim has lodged a case against the unidentified TTE and RPF escort party members at the Fatuha GRP police station, sources said.
