Lawyers go on indefinite strike in Patna civil court

Patna: Lawyers of Patna civil court went on indefinite strike today to protest the assault of an advocate by some miscreants when he protested against playing of obscene music and harassing girls in Khajekala area of the town.

The decision to strike work for an indefinite period from second half onward was taken at an emergency meeting of Lawyers Association at Patna civil court, its President Vijay Kumar Himanshu said.

He said the decision has been taken against assault of a lawyer Madhusudan Lal Jamuar and his family last night after he protested.

A copy of the resolution of the lawyers about indefinite strike has been send to advocates Association of the Patna High Court and also District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police of Patna, Himanshu said.

There are around 3000 lawyers registered with the Patna civil court.
