Patna:
In a bid to encourage public assistance in tackling crime, the Patna police on Saturday rewarded a youth with Rs 5000 for catching a chain snatcher after giving a hot chase in the capital.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj rewarded Rajsekhar for showing exemplary courage in nabbing a chain snatcher from Pirbahore police station area.
The incident took place in Govind Mitra road of the state capital.
The SSP said such reward has been given for the first time to boost public confidence in tackling crime.
He said besides monetary reward, the man will also get a citation for bravery.
