Honda hopes to bring many customers back to its fold with a diesel-powered City model. Honda would be hoping that the City turns out to be as successful as the entry-level sedan Amaze, which has sold over 50,000 units since April. The diesel variant of Amaze has accounted for over 70 per cent of sales.

The Diesel variant of the City will be powered by the 1.5L 4 cylinder DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine. This engine has been developed exclusively for India considering Indian driving conditions and is based on the Honda's latest 'Earth Dreams Technology' realizing both excellent driving performance and offering matchless fuel economy.
