Hyundai drives in compact sedan Xcent

Hyundai on Tuesday unveiled a new compact sedan called Xcent. The new sub-4 metre sedan from Hyundai will increase competition in the segment, pitting it against Maruti's Dzire and Honda's Amaze.

The Xcent, which is based on Grand i10 hatch platform, sports the company's fluidic design.
Hyundai Xcent is expected to be launched in March this year.
Hyundai says subcompact sedans account for 81 per cent of the compact sedan market.

Hyundai is expected to be just as aggressive on pricing as it was with the Grand i10.
The Hyundai Xcent will be available in petrol and diesel versions. The Xcent will also come in both automatic and manual transmission modes.
The car's base variant is unlikely to offer any major safety equipment, though higher grades will have airbags and ABS braking. Other features at the top-end include keyless entry, push button start-stop, rear AC vents, etc.
