Abhishek Bachchan turns 36!

New dad Abhishek Bachchan turns 36 today. An avid social networker like his father Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek was on Twitter this morning, acknowledging birthday wishes from fans and colleagues. Among the early wishes from colleagues were those from his Players co-stars Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Neil Nitin Mukesh. While Sonam said Abhishek was the “coolest person” she knew, Bipasha wished him a “happy happy birthday” and Neil wished “elder brother Abhishek” with much love.

Taking time off from filming and baby duty, Abhishek Bachachan attended the sangeet of actors Riteish and Genelia last week. The dapper Bachchan was head-to-toe traditional in off-white embroidered Abu Jani pathani suit.

Last week was a bit of a happy-sad one for Abhishek Bachchan. On the happy side was the Green Globe award win (for Outstanding Contribution by a Celebrity in creating a greener environment). While Abhishek flew down to Delhi to accept the award from Hollywood action star and former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 64-year-old star gave the award show a miss.

Abhishek later said he didn't know the award was to be given by Schwarzenegger, while Arnold tried to make-up by congratulating Abhishek on Twitter. “Congrats on the Green Globe, @juniorbachchan. More celebrities should be pumping up green progress. I'll be back, & we should get together,” he posted.

In January, Abhishek came solo to attend the 57th Filmfare Awards held in Mumbai. Wife Aishwarya has largely been out of the public eye since the birth of their daughter last year. That, happily came to an end on the eve of Abhishek's birthday last night. Aishwarya stepped out with parents-in-law Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan for the reception of actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'souza.

Junior B also dropped by the success party hosted by Sanjay Dutt for his new film Agneepath. That party, however, has gone down in movie history as the one where the now infamous brawl broke out between Shah Rukh Khan and Shirish Kunder.

Keeping himself busy on the social circuit, Abhishek Bachchan attended the high profile wedding ceremony of business tycoon, Ghanshyam Sarda's daughter Prerna.

Abhishek and his wife played host to Oprah Winfrey on her first visit to India. Abhishek accompanied Oprah Winfrey, along with his father Amitabh and wife Aishwarya to the party hosted by socialite Parameshwar Godrej in honour of Oprah.

On the big screen, Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in Abbas-Mustan's multistarer Players, which released on 6th January, 2012.

Abhishek along with other members of the Bachchan family were also spotted at legendary actor Dilip Kumar's 89th birthday party in December last year.

Abhishek was spotted with Kolaveri Di star and National Award winner Dhanush at the Mumbai premiere of Hollywood icon Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Abhishek Bachchan became a proud father on November 16, 2011 when his wife Aishwarya delivered a baby girl, now popularly known as Beti B.

"Brought the girls home today.I hope beti B realizes the joy she has brought with her. The house is bursting with pink and proud grandparents," he posted on Twitter.

Right before Aishwarya's delivery, Abhishek was spotted with pregnant wife Ash at Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's party where the designer duo celebrated their 25th year in the fashion industry.

Abhishek is said to be very close to his older sister Shweta Nanda.

Abhishek also shares a special bond with his father Amitabh, whom he considers his mentor and inspiration.

Abhishek's first reported replationship was with Karisma Kapoor. The two were in fact engaged, but the engagement broke, for unknown reasons, in 2003. Those in the Bachchan camp say the Kapoors called it off while the Kapoors claim that the Bachchans called it off.

Abhishek's first leading lady on screen was also from the Kapoor clan. It was Karisma's younger sister Kareena. The two made their Bollywood debut together in J.P Dutta's Refugee.

Post the breakup with Karisma, Abhishek lay low for a while and then it was rumoured that he was dating Rani Mukherjee. The two worked together in a number of films and their chemistry was always great.

Finally, Abhishek found his dream girl in Aishwarya Rai whom he married on April 20th, 2007.
