Instead, there was glamour in spades, provided by Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who attended a dinner on-board the luxury train hosted by watch company Longines, of which she is the brand ambassador, on June 18. Slinky in figure-hugging grey, Ash is in England attending the Royal Ascot races where Longines serves as the official timekeeper.

There was Bollywood royalty in addition to the gang from Buckingham Palace at the Ascot horse races in England. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, glamorous in a knee-length white and black lace dress with a sash, attended the first day of the races on Tuesday, June 18.

Aishwarya was a proper English Miss in an elaborate white and black fascinator. Quirky hats have long been a tradition on the sidelines of the Ascot races.

Ash has been attending the Ascot races since 2009 in her capacity as ambassador of Longines watches who are the official timekeepers at Ascot.

We can't discern her entire costume, but that delicately embroidered net dupatta is surely fit for a queen.

Coming up: 24-karat Ash needs no photoshopping

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's maternity leave is over and her very first job was inaugurating the flagship showroom for Kalyan Jewellers in Kochi on Sunday (August 19). Ash, who reportedly took nine-month-old Aaradhya with her to the Southern town, looked pretty in a traditional white and gold Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla lehenga. She finished her look with flowers in her hair and heavy jewellery.

Ash, who looked suspiciously slender in her print ads for the jewellery brand, proved that she needed no digital manipulation, no photoshopping to look anything but perfect.

She said: "This truly feels special. You all know I have shot for this ad after a bit of a break but really thanks to the entire team. I haven't felt the time at all and it was really wonderful to be here and shooting such a beautiful campaign. Kalyan Jewellers campaign will always remain special to me because this is the first campaign I have shot after the birth of my beautiful daughter Aaradhya."

Aishwarya is also back on the social circuit. Over the weekend she attended a party in honour of favourite designers Abu-Sandeep. She's been reading some film scripts and is expected to sign a project soon. Here's welcoming here back.

She wore a grey Elie Saab on the Cannes red carpet in May this year, with a huge smile and a carefree wave of her hand, unmindful of the fact that the dress clung to every plus size curve. The former Miss World and mother of 10-month-old daughter Aaradhya said motherhood has kept her extremely busy for the past year and she hasn't had much time to miss being in movies. Motherhood is "bliss like I have never experienced. Each passing day you feel blessed with such joys," said Aishwarya.

On the occasion of International Peace Day, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the peace bell ceremony at United Nations in New York on Friday. Ash, dressed in a black and cream lehenga, was among a host of celebrities who took part in the ceremony which aims to end hostilities among nations around the world. Also seen with the actress was veteran Hollywood actor Michael Douglas (extreme right).

The actress has been accused of now being heavier by five to six kilos.

Mommy Aishwarya and her little baby attended the Dubai World Cup in April, where she looked red hot in a red Sabyasachi suit.

Ash looked fresh and glowing in a new hairdo, as she stepped out with her mother, Vrinda Rai, to attend the The ICONIC Woman of Worth Award in March this year. She wore a bright salwar-kameez again by favourite designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

In February, Ash was once again seen wearing a creation by Anu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, as she posed for the shutterbugs with her husband Abhishek at the wedding reception of Riteish Deshmukh's younger brother Dheeraj.

This picture was taken in November last year, when Aishwarya returned home with Beti B. Aishwarya did look a lot slimmer back then, but we love her with or without the baby fat.

There was a frenzied clicking of camera when Ash stepped out for the first time since she gave birth to Beti B with her family. The actress seemed at ease, at the wedding reception of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia, in February.
