Recently, the actress spent ten days in Kargil as part of a documentary, meeting army jawans at the Line of Control. "I cried, I laughed, I danced, I was angry. There was no emotion I didn't feel," Neha had said to a newspaper about her experience.

As actress Neha Dhupia celebrates her birthday today we take a look at her life in pics. Former Miss India and Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia was born in Cochin on August 27, 1980 to a Sikh family. Her father, Commander Sandip Dhupia, served in the Indian Navy and mother, Manpinder, is a homemaker.
Neha was bitten by the acting bug while still at school. She started out on stage in a play called Graffiti.
Neha also appeared in a music video for Euphoria and fronted many modeling assignments.
Neha was no stranger to the camera when she looked Bollywood's way – she had already appeared in TV serial Rajdhani.
Crowning Glory: In 2002 she entered the Femina Miss India pageant and won the Femina Miss India Universe title.
Ticket to Bollywood: Neha failed to place in the Miss Universe 2002 pageant in Puerto Rico but her stint as a beauty queen landed her in the filmi spotlight. She made her movie debut in Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003).
Bollywood sat up and took notice of her in her second movie, Julie (2004), in which she played the risqué role of a prostitute.
In 2007 Neha starred in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local with Abhay Deol. The movie was an interesting story about two people who miss the last local train at 1:40 am and how it changes the course of their lives forever.
Neha also played a supporting role in the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer Singh Is Kinng, which became a huge hit.
Bandit Queen: In 2010, Neha Dhupia followed up her appearance in the Aishwarya-Akshay starrer Action Replayy with her role as the female version of Gabbar Singh in her next release, Phas Gaye Re Obama. The small budget comedy featured Neha and Rajat Kapoor in the lead roles.
The actress was last seen in the movie Maximum starring Naseeruddin Shah and Sonu Sood.
