At Prithvi Theatre, a Gathering of Friends and Family For Shashi Kapoor

Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award from Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley at Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai on May 10. The actor, wearing an orange scarf over a black outfit, was in a wheelchair.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley presented the award Shashi Kapoor, star of over 175 films over a 40-long-year career.

Sanjana shared an emotional moment with her father Shashi Kapoor at the event.

Shashi Kapoor's former heroines cheered for him after his felicitation.

And it was selfie time for Neetu Singh, Karisma, Ranbir and Rekha but Rishi Kapoor, who stood near the group, gave it a miss.

The illustrious Kapoor khandaan also posed for a group picture.

Shashi Kapoor was also a part of a group picture with his former co-stars Nafisa Ali, Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Zeenat Aman, Shabana Azmi, Rekha, Neetu Singh and Supriya Pathak.

Ahead of the ceremony, the 77-year-old wheel-chair bound actor greeted cameras with a namaste.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has starred with Shashi Kapoor in 12 films including Deewar, Trishul, Shaan and Namak Halaal, spoke at the ceremony.

Ranbir, Shashi Kapoor's grand-nephew, began the introductions at the ceremony.

Shashi Kapoor's grand-niece Karisma was accompanied by brother-in-law, actor Saif Ali Khan.

Actor Armaan Jain was all smiles at the event.

Actresses Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh, Mr Kapoor's co-stars in films like Namak Halaal and Pyar Ka Mausam respectively, were also present for the award ceremony.

Actor Rishi Kapoor, who quoted the famous 'mere paas ma hain' dialogue from Deewar at the ceremony, was all smiles.

Actress Hema Malini, Shashi Kapoor's heroine in Trishul and Do Aur Do Paanch, wore a pink sari.

Actress Rekha, who co-starred with Shashi Kapoor in films like Suhaag, Kalyug and Chakkar Pe Chakkar, wore a gold sari.

Actress Zeenat Aman was a vision in white. She was Mr Kapoor's co-star in controversial film Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

Actress Shabana Azmi was also present.

Actor Anupam Kher, who co-starred with Shashi Kapoor in Utsav, Swami Vivekananda and Raiszaada, greeted the media with a namaste.

Lyricist Javed Akhtar was spotted in a conversation with Rishi Kapoor at the event.

Pamela Chopra also arrived for the ceremony.
