A look at top celebrity wedding that made headlines.

  • Billionaire Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg tied the knot with girlfriend of nine years, Priscilla Chan, on May 19, 2012, just one day after his company made its public trading debut. Zuckerberg simply made the wedding announcement by updating his relationship status to 'Married Priscilla Chan.'

    The wedding took place in the backyard of Zuckerberg's home in Palo Alto, California with less than 100 guests who had no idea they were going witness a wedding. Zuckerberg ditched his trademark hoodie for a black suit and tie, while Priscilla wore a Claire Pettibone wedding dress she bought using a fake name.
  • Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza married on February 3, eight after they started dating. Their's was Bollywood's first big wedding of 2012.

    The couple first tied the knot in full Marathi tradition and then went on to say 'I Do' at the St Anne's Church, Bandra the next day.

    They had lavish wedding and pre-wedding functions.
  • Tamil filmstars and longtime lovebirds Sneha and Prasanna, exchanged vows in a traditional wedding ceremony on May 11. The who's who of Southern filmdom, including Suriya and Jyothika, were guests at the wedding. Sneha, star of such hit films as Virumbugiren, Aanandham, Punnagai Desam and Pirivom Santhippom, is expected to continue acting after her marriage.
  • Popular television actors Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh married in Mumbai on March 2 after a six year courtship. The wedding was attended by actors Sohail Khan, Mouni Roy and Aamna Sharif.
  • Singer Sunidhi Chauhan married musician Hitesh Sonik in April. The wedding was followed by a high profile reception on April 26 in Mumbai, where guests included Asha Bhosle and many other big names from Bollywood.
  • Bappa Lahiri, son of singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri, married Taneesha, daughter of action co-ordinator Mahendra Verma, at the ITC Grand Sheraton in Mumbai on April 16.

    The wedding was attended by A-listers including Salman Khan.
  • Actress Reema Sen, known for her Tamil and Telugu films, married her restaurateur boyfriend, Shiv Karan Singh, in a farm house in New Delhi, on March 11.

    Only family and close friends, among whom were actresses Shriya Saran and Sandali Sinha were invited for the ceremony.
  • Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman tied the knot with her fiance Benjamin Millepied very very quietly in February. The news was confirmed by her ring-designer Jamie Wolf.

    Benjamin and Natalie, met on the sets of Black Swan in 2009 and were spotted wearing rings at the Oscars on February 26.

    The pair got engaged in December 2010 and Natalie gave birth to son Aleph last June.
  • Riteish's younger brother Dheeraj Deshmukh tied the knot with producer Vashu Bhagnani's daughter, Honey, in Mumbai on February 27.
  • Actress Shveta Salve married her fiance Harmeet Sethi on April 24 in Goa.

    "Ever since Harmeet proposed to me last year, we had planned to have the wedding sometime in April this year. We wanted to do the wedding somewhere out of Mumbai. After deliberating on places like Thailand (that's where Harmeet proposed) and Kerala, we decided upon Goa. After all, home is where the heart is and our heart lies in Goa," said a happy and excited Shveta.
  • David Dhawan's son Rohit married Jaanvi Desai on February 11 in Goa.

    Big guests at the wedding included Sohail Khan, Arbaaz and Malaika Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanyata.
  • TV actress Deepshikha married Kaishav Arora this year on January 19 in Mumbai. This is the actress' second marriage and she has two children from her first one.

  • Malayalam actress Dhanya Mary Varghese married actor John Jacob early this year on January 9, at a church in Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Bollywood actor Vikaas Kalantri married TV actress Priyanka Chibber in February. Their reception ceremony was attended by Neil Nitin Mukesh, Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, yesteryear actor Biswajit and Poonam Dhillon.
  • Britain's Prince William and Kate Midlleton celebrated their first wedding anniversary on April 29. In last year's grand ceremony, Kate walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey in a stunning ivory, lace-overlaid Alexander McQueen wedding dress. After the ceremony, William kissed his new bride not once, but twice on the balcony of Buckingham Palace cheered on by the crowd below.
