Reacting on Rahman's achievement, Lata Mangeshkar said she had no words to express her happiness at his win. Nonetheless, she wished him an Oscar award every year.
Talking about Rahman's win ad man Prasoon Joshi told the media - he (Rahman) has done much better work in the past but this will lead people in the west to look up to the other works that Rahman and India have done.
