Bollywood Meets the Minister: Aamir, Anushka, Vidya Discuss Censor Board

On March 16, Mumbai's famous Sun-n-Sand Hotel was packed with members from the film fraternity who met Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, to discuss restrictions placed recently by the Censor Board on films.

Actor Aamir Khan, always at the forefront of issues concerning his fraternity and otherwise, was casually dressed in a grey T-shirt. He was seen with producer Mukesh Bhatt.

Anushka Sharma, whose NH10 was cleared by the Censor Board after nine cuts, looked fabulous in a beige outfit, her chic look accentuated by an elegant updo.

Aamir's wife Kiran Rao and actress Deepika Padukone drove down together.

Deepika, gorgeous in cream and white, greeted Anushka warmly.

The Three Musketeers: Anushka and Aamir posed with their PK director Rajkumar Hirani.

Rajkumar Hirani, filmmaker Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone happily posed for a group picture.

Anushka, actress Vidya Balan and film critic Anupama Chopra arrived together.

Aamir's wife Kiran Rao seemed to be in a much jollier mood than her husband.

Kiran exchanged pleasantries with good friend Karan Johar.

PK director Rajkumar Hirani, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan and Riteish Deshmukh listened to the proceedings in rapt attention.

As did the other members of the delegation, including filmmakers Ramesh Sippy and Karan Johar.

Rajyavardhan Rathore was seated next to producer Mukesh Bhatt who said after the meeting, "We were feeling vulnerable, restless, insecure. Will interact with ministry more."

Directors Sudhir Mishra and Anurag Kashyap were also a part of the delegation. The Censor Board has come down hard on Mr Kashyap's production Hunterrr.

Lyricist Gulzar and director Vishal Bhardwaj were also conspicuous among the sea of dignitaries.

Producer Ekta Kapoor also participated in the discussion.

Actress Shabana Azmi, in a peach churidaar kurta, preceded Mr Rathore.

Actress Deepa Sahi also made her presence felt.

Director Sudhir Mishra wore a grey T-shirt and a pair of beige trousers.

Director Anurag Kashyap, whose production Hunterrr was cleared by the Censor Board after changes in dialogue, was also a part of the delegation.

As was Badlapur director Sriram Raghavan whose Badlapur was the first to be impacted by the Censor Board ban on cuss words.

Actress Vidya Balan, pretty in a blue salwar kameez, was accompanied by her husband, Disney India head Siddharth Roy Kapur.
