Bollywood mourns irreplaceable Shammi

Here is what the film fraternity said about their great loss - that of legend Shammi Kapoor.

  • The Big B had tweeted earlier: Shammi Kapoor ji passed away this morning at 5:15 am. Rushing there now. The flamboyance and joie de vivre of the Industry lost!
    In his message to the legendary actor, Big B added: "Shammi ji, An entire life full of optimism and happy spirit, caring loving to all... Now suddenly silent."

    "The day I met Shammiji- 4yrs ago in Malaysia I saw him at the AirPort. I kept looking at him and turning my face away not knowing how to approach him and introduce myself. I kept walking ahead till I caught Shammijis eye and he politely waved at me and asked me to come to him and said -
    'Hi I'm Shammi Kapoor, I've been wanting to say hello to you'.

    Such was the greatness of the man. I was totally embarrassed and I just touched his feet - couldn't get the words out of my head.
    My Hero - My Superstar had said hello to me. That was the only time I met him. Today is a very sad day. He will always live in our hearts. Love u sir."
