  • Some actors grace with age while others fade away and there are some who should immediately stop appearing on the big screen. Here is a list of Bollywood stars we feel should retire before fans boo them away.
  • Actress Rani Mukherjee made her debut opposite Amjad Khan's son (we can't even recall his name) in Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat back in 1996. Twelve years later her roles just seem to be going downhill. Her last few releases including the much-hyped Dil Bole Haddipa have been a complete washout at the box office.
  • Actress Priety Zinta who did an item number in Main Aur Mrs Khanna was far from happening on the professional as well as the personal front in 2009.
  • Actress Sushmita Sen's career too has taken a nosedive as her film Do Knot Disturb bombed at the box office. Now the actress has pinned all her hopes on her forthcoming release Dulha Mil Gaya in 2010.
  • For actress Celina Jaitley 2009 was a year for raising issues like gay rights and animal rights but she didn't achieve any success on the big screen. She kept a very low profile in Bollywood films but one of her English films Love Has No Language clinched her the best female actor award at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival. The actress hopes that her next Accident On Hill Road will help her earn some big projects next year.
  • Actress Dia Mirza who debuted in Bollywood with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in 2001, had a couple of releases like Acid Factory and Kurbaan but both did badly at the box office. Her previous year's films Cash and Krazzy 4 didn't do any good to her career.
  • Actress Soha Ali Khan's flop show continues in 2009 too. Her recently released Tum Mile disappointed her fans. In fact her two other releases of 2009 99 and Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge left the actress desperately looking for a success formula.
  • She did four films – Kidnap, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Anamika and Shaurya - in 2008 and all fell flat at the box office. Without any release in 2009, it's really difficult for actress Minissha Lamba to defend her presence in Bollywood. The actress hopes that her next Well Done Abba to be released in 2010 may just give some reason to cheer.
  • Neha Dhupia was a Miss India and her acting abilities are also very Miss India. Though she couldn't exactly make it to the big league, she does have quite a number of films lined up.
  • Many believe that sister Raima is better than Riya, but unfortunately we seem to get more of Riya than Raima. The MMS allegedly featuring her with then boyfriend Ashmeet Patel seems to be have been watched more than all her films put together. Though she does make good photo galleries, we can live without that.
  • Considering the fate of all his four films in 2009, Do Knot Disturb, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Life Partner and Chal Chala Chal, actor-turned-politician-turned-actor Govinda should give a serious thought to retire from the film industry. Though he has a series of films in 2010, he seems to have lost his appeal to his fans. In fact his career graph slides further down with every release.
  • Fardeen Khan's 2009 release like Life Partner exposed his complete inability to act in films.
  • Besides other releases in 2009, Zayed Khan's Blue made his fans (considering he has any) feel rather blue.
  • Actor Dino Morea might not have officially announced his retirement from Bollywood but the actor has realized his potential as an entrepreneur rather than an actor. So after opening a bar, the actor is planning to open its branches at many other places. Seeing the response of his films like Acid Factory, we advise him to concentrate on his business rather than acting.
  • Aftab Shivdasani had five releases in 2009 but none of them earned either critical acclaim or box office collections. Even his debut as producer in the film Aao Wish Karein, in which he acted too, didn't brighten her scope in the film industry.
  • Much hyped Kurbaan was a comeback film for Vivek Oberoi but the film's fate sent the actor back to his days of obscurity.
  • Till now Himmesh Reshammiya whose 2009 releases Aap Kaa Surroor 2 and Radio bombed at the box office, should have realized the he should concentrate at singing as acting is not his cup of tea.
  • In both the films Vaada Raha... I Promise and Ek The Power Of One Bobby Deol's acting was so pathetic that even a newcomer can give him a run for his money.
  • It's not just in 2009 that his film Fox fell flat at the box office. For last so many years Sunny Deol has been unimpressive in the film industry.
  • Arbaaz Khan appeared in more than half a dozen films in 2009 but none left any impression on the viewers.
  • Films like Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Kissan raised a question mark on Sohail Khan continuation as an actor in Bollywood.
  • Actor Sunil Shetty's actions stunts took him to nowhere in the film industry so he took to comedy. But that didn't work too as the film De Dana Dan didn't fetch anything for him in 2009. Now he should think hard which genre of films he should do or rather should say goodbye to the glamour world.
