Riteish aka Aladin Deshmukh is the latest to join the pagdi bandwagon. The actor will be seen donning a turban in his latest Aftab Shivdasani production Aao Wish Karein. The actor plays the grown up version of a Sardar kid in the film. He plays Bonny, Aftab's best friend. Reports are that Riteish agreed to do this as a gesture of friendship towards Aftab Shivdasani.

Akshay Kumar with Singh is Kinng seems to have made being a sikh look so cool on screen. His stylish get up in the turbans had audience asking for more. Within a single film he donned the turban in various chic styles. The film had initially ran into controversies with few Sikh organisations, though the issues were resolved before the release and the film had a smooth run.

If you think it's only men who have portrayed a 'Sardar' in Hindi films, then think again. The latest person to don a pagdi was our very own Bong beauty Rani Mukherjee. The actress was seen as a cricket obsessed girl who dresses up as a sardar to play the game in her last release Dil Bole Hadippa. Though the film failed to impress cricket fans her look was surely a hit.

Salman Khan was seen playing a sikh army officer in Samir Karnik’s Heroes. The movie also had Preity Zinta opposite Salman along with Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Dino Morea, Sohail Khan, Riya Sen, Amrita Arora, Vatsal Seth and Mithun Chakraborty amongst others!

Sanjay Dutt best known for his portrayal as a don in countless films also played a Sardar in a 2007 film Sarhad Paar which had Sanju alongwith Tabu, Mahima Choudhary and Chandrachur Singh. Sanjay played the role of Ranjit Singh an army man who returns home after a long time.

Year 2002 saw the release of over three films based on the life of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Ajay Devgan played the extraordinary sardar's role with aplomb in Rajkumar Santoshi's The Legend of Bhagat Singh. Bobby Deol also sported a turban in his home production titled 23rd March 1931: Shaheed.
