His birth was celebrated across the commonwealth countries including New Zealand and Canada. Just a few hours ago, the Royal Palace of Cambridge rung in his birthday with this image where the young prince looks the happiest on father William's lap.

He left the hospital with his mother the very next day. This was his first, and for a long time, only public outing. Eventually, there was more. Here's a look at the toddler's royal journey in pictures.
-
His full name was announced as George Alexander Louis on July 24, 2013. His full title was revealed as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge. Baby George is third in line to England's throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and father.

It was almost a month before we got another look at Baby George, when his first official Royal portrait was released. The photograph, taken by Kate's father Michael Middleton, also features the family pets Tilly and Lupo and was taken in the Middletons' garden.

The next time we saw Will and Kate's baby prince was at his christening on October 23, 2013.

Prince George, seen here with his parents at the ceremony, reportedly wore a replica of the intricate lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria the Princess Royal, in 1841.

Later, Buckingham Palace released a photo celebrating the christening of Prince George that shows four generations of the Royal Family and three of the Middletons gathered together. The group was photographed in The Morning Room at Clarence House in London on October 23, 2013.

We had to wait until March 29, 2014 for having another look at Prince George as his parents released a rare family photo showing the couple with their eight-month-old son Prince George and pet dog Lupo.

The next glimpse of Baby George came soon, with his parents on April 7, 2014 as they touched down in Wellington to begin their three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia. This was only his second official public outing.
-
The tour gave us a lot of insights into the busy lives of Prince George and his doting mother. Here, he is seen engaged in a stare-down with a big blue teddy bear.
-
Prince George was spotted taking baby steps with a little help from mommy last month and this image of him walking on his own, dressed in striped blue Petit Bateau dungarees, was released by the Palace on his first birthday.
-
Prince George's pre-birthday pictures in 2014 also included those from a visit to the butterfly exhibit at London's Natural History Museum.
-
That butterfly is obviously one of the most fascinating things the little Prince had seen in his short life.

The toddler who has never been shy of the shutterbugs, had a mischievous look on his face while photographed on the steps leading to the Kensington Palace.

On May 2, 2015, the soon-to-be-two George became a big brother as he welcomed his baby sister Princess Charlotte into the family.

An adorable Prince George was astonished enough at the 'Trooping the Colour' parade to mark his great grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's birthday in the UK on June 13 and received a doting kiss from father William.

He looked adorable while waving at the crowd in a sweater matching his father's.

Prince George left doting grandfather Prince Charles, grandmother Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate amused while he excitedly pointed to the crowd.
