Byomkesh Bakshy Time Travels to the 21st Century

As a side effect, starring in a period drama film ought to afford few opportunities to appear in character while on publicity duty. However, it seems nothing is impossible for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, who time travelled from the Kolkata of 1943 to the present day to solve a case with television's favourite crime fighters, CID.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who will be seen in the titular role in Dibakar Banerjee's film, was spotted shooting for a special promotional episode of the hit TV series in Mumbai on March 30.

Sushant was dressed as the eponymous sleuth in dhoti-kurta. The only addition to his Byomkesh Bakshy appearance was his long hair, which he valiantly kept in check with a copious amount of gel.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who will be seen as the eponymous sleuth in Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, attended a fashion show inspired by his dhoti-clad look in the film in Mumbai on February 25.

At the show, Sushant skipped the dhoti and kurta of the Bengali bhadralok he wears in the film but allowed a nod to the sartorial tone of the day in an outfit the bottom half of which was dhoti-esque.

He was seen applauding the participants of the fashion show.

Sushant also went on stage to woo one of the participants in true Bollywood style.

He also displayed some meticulous sword-fighting techniques.

And clicked a selfie with his fans.

Sushant Singh Rajput brought a little bit of Kolkata to Mumbai, where the trailer of his new film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy was launched on January 21. Sushant, who plays the fictional Bengali sleuth on his first case in 1943's City of Joy, pretended to pull a rickshaw bearing his director Dibakar Banerjee.

Director Dibakar Banerjee addressed the media as Sushant looked on carefully.

Sushant was also spotted cooking some delicacies at the event.

Meanwhile, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan launched eye care equipment in Mumbai.

He was accompanied by his wife Jaya Bachchan.

Mr Bachchan was seen having a serious conversation with his wife.

Across town, actress Aditi Rao Hydari looked pretty in a maroon Neha Taneja dress at the launch of a magazine cover.

Meanwhile, interior designer Sussanne Khan attended the GoodHome Awards in a dotted dress.

Adhuna Akhtar, renowned Bollywood hairstylist and Farhan Akhtar's wife, was on the jury and looked stylish in a brick red Masaba dress.
