Celebrities wish for Jagjit Singh's speedy recovery
Renowned Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, reportedly due to a brain hemorrhage.

Renowned Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, reportedly due to a brain hemorrhage.
Sources within the hospital have said that the next 48 hours will be crucial for the meastro. A statement issued by Lilavati Hospital says, "Mr. Jagjit Singh's condition remains critical. We have to respect the patient privacy and therefore cannot comment further."
A whole host of his friends within the industry showed up to support the highly revered maestro. -
Mr Jalota said Mr Jagjit Singh's health is slightly improving.
“He had high blood pressure which resulted in a blood clot. Sometimes when you have a high BP, it leads to clotting of blood. This led to brain hemorrhage, which is what he was operated upon. After surgery, he is responding and is better than he was in the morning. He is still on (slightly) ventilator support. Please pray for him,” he said. -
Singer Ghulam Ali, who is at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital with Chitra Singh and Anup Jalota urged all his fans to pray for Jagjit Singh's good health and speedy recovery.
“I just met Chitra Ji and we're hoping for his speedy recovery. Such an ailment can befall anyone; I pray that my friend of 35 years recovers. He's a sincere and talented person and a legendary singer. I've been praying for him and urge all of you to do the same. Inshallah, he should recover fast,” he said.
“Doctors are doing their best. I didn't meet them but was with Chitra ji,” he added. -
Lyricist Gulzar held a press conference in Ahmedabad and besides other things, he spoke about Jagjit Singh's health.
He said that although the singer's condition remains critical he has responded to treatment in the morning.
