Everyone wants to be Marilyn Monroe

The most famous blonde in the world continues to inspire the most beautiful women today, 50 years after she died.

Madonna: The singer's hit single Material Girl from her second album Lika A Virgin was a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Madonna copied the style icon and wore a pink strapless dress identical to the one which Marilyn Monroe wore to sing Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend in the 1953 film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Scarlett Johannson: The actress struck a seductive pose with white-blonde hair and ruby lips replicating Marilyn Monroe's trademark lips parted pose in a Dolce & Gabbana advertisement in 2009.

Michelle Williams: The actress had her Marilyn Monroe moment in the 2011 film My Week With Marilyn. Michelle's Oscar nominated portrayal of the iconic beauty brought back Marilyn Monroe's sex appeal and sensuality to the silver screen.

Lindsay Lohan: Photographer Bert Stern who shot Marilyn Monroe's famous series of photographs, 'The Last Sitting' in 1962 revisited his classic shots with Lindsay Lohan in 2008. The actress recreated the famous images by posing like the 1950s icon.

Nicole Kidman: The Moulin Rouge actress borrowed some of Marilyn Monroe's sex appeal on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine in 2008.

Megan Fox: The actress had Marilyn tattooed on her right forearm when she was 18. "I really admire Marilyn Monroe, but I would never try to emulate her. I got the tattoo as a warning," the actress had said in an interview. The actress got a lot of publicity and negative media attention for her inking. In 2011, Megan decided to remove it.

Paris Hilton: Another famous blonde dressed up like the iconic beauty in 2010 during the launch of her 10th perfume line, Tease. The perfume range was reportedly a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. "I think every decade has an iconic blonde - like Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana - and right now, I'm that icon," Paris had said in an interview. Umm, OK.

Jennifer Lopez: The singer-actress wore a blonde wig and a slinky silver dress in imitation of Marilyn Monroe and sang Happy Birthday to talk show host George Lopez just the way the glamorous icon sang to John F Kennedy on his birthday in 1962.

Lady Gaga: On June 1 2012, the pop star posted a image of herself on Twitter styled as the iconic beauty wishing Marilyn Monroe on her 86th birthday. "#HappyBirthdayMarilyn They'll never take our blonde hair and lipstick," the singer had tweeted.

Rihanna: The singer turned Marilyn Monroe in 2011 for Vogue magazine's cover shoot, complete with a blonde wig and a pout.

Christina Aguilera: The singer paid homage to the style diva by emulating Monroe in her album cover, Back to Basics.
