First Look: Sameera, Vishal in Vedi

Vedi is an upcoming Tamil action genre film directed by choreographer and actor turned director Prabhu Deva. The movie features Vishal and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles.

Vedi is an upcoming Tamil action genre film directed by choreographer and actor turned director Prabhu Deva. The movie features Vishal and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles.

Vishal Krishna and Sameera Reddy are said to have shared a sizzling chemistry in the film.
The film is said to be a remake of the successful 2008 Telugu film Souryam.
Vishal began his first schedule of the film in February 2011, after completing his other film Avan Ivan.

Vishal is said to have bonded well with her co-star Sameera in the film. He had said earlier that his on-screen chemistry with Sameera would be one of the highlights of the film.
Model turned actress Sameera Reddy wasn't the first choice for the role. Initially Trisha Krishnan was approached for the lead female role but she turned it down.

Similarly, Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani cited dated problems too.
Grapevine is abuzz with reports that the film has a song, Mumbai Ponnu... , which is sung by Mamta Sharma of Munni Badnam Hui fame.

"This is perhaps the first time I'm not using an apple box or stool during my scenes with the heroine," Vishal had said earlier adding, "Sameera is almost as tall as me. The rapport we shared on the sets has been positive and has translated into some good scenes."
The actor worked on a hectic pace to complete the shooting of the film.

"We're shooting as fast as possible to complete Vedi. After a long time, I'm working on my birthday and well, it should be fun,” the actor said.
Vishal became an actor after a brief stint as an assistant director in a few Tamil films.

The film is said to feature an item song featuring singer turned VJ and actor Sophie Choudhary.
Vedi is scheduled to release in October this year.
