Fresh Stills: Anurag Kashyap's Shaitan

Anurag Kashyap's upcoming thriller on urban excesses, Shaitan, has already grabbed the attention of the Twitterati.

Starring Kalki Koechlin, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shiv Pandit, Gulshan Devaiya and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles, the cast is also supported by Rajit Kapoor and VJ Nikhil Chinnappa.

Anurag Kashyap has produced the film, directed by Bejoy Nambiar.

The film revolves around five youngsters who test the boundaries of living on the edge.

All it takes is a moment, an accident, that has this group of friends scurrying across the desolate streets of Mumbai.

The storyline grapples with the devil, aka the Shaitan, that lurks within us.

Hot on their tail is Inspector Mathur. 'Inspector Mathur' shows the dark side of urban cops.

Shaitan has already created a buzz, with the Keerti-Kalki kissing scene, when Keerti's character is dared to do it.
"Bejoy told me about everything else but the kiss. Well, he did bring it up once, but I thought he was kidding," said Keerti in an interview.

The film has been touted as Kalki's best performance yet.

The music of Shaitan has been praised for being edgy and quirky, far removed from the usual Bollywood music. The album has been put together by four composers and a music band with a variety of singers behind the mike.

All set to release on Friday, June 10, the film's poster bears a strong resemblance to that of Kashyap's Dev D. We'll wait to see what the public and the box office has to say.
