Gauri Khan has glamour covered

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri stars on the cover of Noblesse India magazine's December edition. Mrs Khan could easily be mistaken for a filmstar herself, with her cascading hair and curves encased in white Gucci.

He may have women across India swooning in his wake but there's just one leading lady in Shah Rukh Khan's life.

Film producer, interior designer, style icon, supermom and superwife - Gauri Khan may have been content to stay out of the reel spotlight but plays several roles in real life.

As she turns 43, here is a look at her journey from being a simple Delhi girl to a star wife.

Gauri Chhibber was born in New Delhi on October 8, 1970. She went to Modern School and then graduated in history from Lady Shriram College.

Gauri met Shah Rukh in 1984 and the two got married on October 25, 1991 after a courtship that seemed scripted by Bollywood - her family disapproved, she fled to Mumbai, he followed her and eventually tracked her down on a beach and asked her to marry him.

In the 1990s, Gauri hosted a weekly Hindi music countdown show called Oye for MTV.

Gauri and Shah Rukh have three beautiful children together. Aryan was born on November 13, 1997 and Suhana on May 23, 2000.

The couple's third child AbRam was born on May 27, 2013 through surrogacy.

Gauri Khan ventured into showbiz with her husband in 2002, when they co-founded the production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, in which she served as the main producer. Farah Khan's film Main Hoon Na was the first film to be produced by the production house and turned out to be a runaway hit.

Thereafter, Gauri Khan produced several hits like Om Shanti Om (2007), My Name Is Khan (2010), which was co-produced with Dharma Productions, RA.One (2011) and the recent blockbuster Chennai Express.

Gauri branched into interior designing, launching her own line of furniture in 2012 in collaboration with Hrithik Roshan's wife Sussanne.

The two star wives also featured together in the April 2012 issue of Vogue magazine as business partners.

Once camera-shy, Gauri Khan today is a frequently photographed fashion icon and has appeared in several magazine covers and has been spotted walking the ramp during fashion shows.

Gauri Khan has also featured in commercial advertisements alongside her husband.
