Golden Globes trends: red, blue, white
Here is a look at the top trends on the Golden Globes red carpet.
-
Paint it red: Unusually, the Golden Globes red carpet was a veritable sea of red, a colour the celebs normally shun because it clashes with the background. Jennifer Lawrence and Claire Danes, in Dior and Versace respectively, led a bevy of brave beauties who bucked the trend. Zooey Deschanel's red Oscar de la Renta was very much like Jennifer's Dior pouf, Jennifer Garner wore high-octane Vivienne Westwood and our very own Tabu was elegant in a bright red sari.
-
Black magic women: There was no dearth of black, the red carpet's all-time favourite colour. Julianne Moore dolled up in Tom Ford, Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman hit the right note in Alexander McQueen, new mom Adele made her first post-baby public appearance in Burberry and Eva Longoria wore custom made Emilio Pucci.
-
Nude portraits: Jennifer Lopez took the honours in a show-stopping sheer dress by favourite designer Zuhair Murad. Megan Fox was a perfect 10 in Dolce & Gabbana and Amy Adams wore Marchesa. Amanda Seyfried wore Givenchy while Kaley Cuoco was seen in a Katharine Kidd dress.
-
Strapless: Shoulders were the body part du jour, shown off to best advantage in a line-up of strapless dresses. Right from Jennifer Lawrence in her Dior dress, Anne Hathaway in Chanel to Sofia Vergara in Michael Cinco, Olivia Munn in Giorgio Armani and the host of the evening Tina Fey in L'Wren Scott.
