Juhi Chawla is married to industrialist Jai Mehta and the couple have two children - a daughter and a son.

Juhi won the Miss India pageant in 1984. She didn't make it to the Miss Universe final 10 but did win Best Costume.

Bollywood came calling after her brush with beauty pageant fame. Her first movie was Sultanat (1986) opposite Karan Kapoor. The movie also starred Dharmendra, Sridevi and Sunny Deol.

Hit #3 was fell good entertainer Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke opposite usual suspect Aamir. Juhi won her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for this film.

Post Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke came a lean phase in Juhi's career. Films like Saajan Ka Ghar, Raam Jaane, Najayaz and Loafer entirely failed to set thecash registers ringing.
