The movie did fairly well at the box office and Varun received rave reviews for his role as Rohan, the ambitious son of a rich businessman, determined to win his school's annual championship.

Varun's next film was 2014's romantic comedy Main Tera Hero, which was directed by his father and co-starred actresses Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri. The movie, a remake of the Telugu film Kandireega, received an average response at the box office.
