As international heavyweights of the music scene, Metallica, cancelled their much-awaited gig in Gurgaon on Friday (October 28, 2011), chaoes ensued.

Broken barricades, torn-down posters and strewn equipment dampened the festive spirit of Metallica fans.

Things never got back in control as scores of angry Metallica fans lashed out in anger.

Excitement turned into aggression at the Leisure Valley Ground in Gurgaon as Metallica's performance was postponed to Saturday (October 29, 2011) following "technical faults".

Following extreme mob violence, which involved fans trashing Metallica's personal equipment, the police have launched an inquiry into the incident.

The concert was to serve as the opener for the 'F1 Rocks' series of performances for the upcoming Formula 1 event.

The audience was kicked about head-banging to the high-voltage music, until the spoiler came.

Fans destroyed the heavy-duty set, which took over two months to assemble.

In the wake of the violent set of events, the concert organisers issued an official statement:

"F1 Rocks and Metallica regret to announce that due to technical difficulties, the Metallica show at Gurgaon has been postponed until Saturday.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

Disgruntled fans rip the event poster as the rest run amok.

Taking advantage of the messy affair, hooligans added to the chaos by uprooting stands and throwing chairs.
