  • Mera Naam Joker (1970) – When its first released bombed at the box office, Raj Kapoor re-edited it and released it for the second time. And rest is a history now.
  • Johny Mera Naam (1970) - According to Boxofficeindia.com, it's net gross was Rs 4,00,00,000. It starred Dev Anand, Hema Malini and Pran.
  • Haathi Mera Saathi (1971) - Directed by MA Thirumugham, the Rajesh Khanna-Tanuja starrer movie went on to become one of the major hits in the year. It grossed Rs 3,50,00,000 (Source: Boxofficeindia.com).
  • Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971) - According to Dharmendra, this was the most memorable film of his career. Actress Asha Parekh was cast oppostie him. Its rural backdrop and melodious music were really impressive.
  • Anand (1971) - Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the movie dealt with a very sensitive subject. Rajesh Khanna, who plays Anand, knows that he suffers from cancer still he lives his life to the fullest.

  • Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974) - Manoj Kumar not just wrote, produced and directed the movie, but also acted in it. Other prominent star cast are Shashi Kapoor, Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan. The movie won several awards, one of them was Filmfare Best Director Award for Manoj Kumar.
  • Sholay (1975) - One of the most successful films of all times, the movie was about the undying friendship between Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra), the unspoken love of a young widow(Jaya Bhaduri), the exuberant romance between a garrulous 'tonga walli' (Hema Malini) and a flamboyant thief, the immensely tragic life of an idealistic police officer (Sanjeev Kumar) and, of course, Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan), the dacoit who struck terror.
  • Deewaar (1975) - Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay and Shashi Kapoor as Ravi, the movie turned out to be a path-breaking. Vijay and Ravi were brothers. While Vijay becomes a smuggler, Ravi chooses to become a policeman. Among many other awards and accolades, Deewaar won the Filmfare Best Movie Award of 1975.
  • Aandhi (1975) – The film was supposed to be on the life of the then Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi. With Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen as the main leads, Aandhi was remembered for its beautiful music and songs. It was a super hit film of that era.
  • Mausam (1975) - The movie stars Sanjeev Kumar, Sharmila Tagore and Dina Pathak. Directed by Gulzar, the romantic movie won many hearts. It won the Filmfare Award for Best Movie.
  • Dus Numbri (1976) – The success of the movie can be ascertained from the fact that its net gross was Rs 4,50,00,000 during 70s. Manoj Kumar, Hema Malini and Prem Nath played the lead in the movie.
  • Kabhi Kabhie (1976) - The most remembered song from the movie is Kabhi Kbhie Mere Dil Mein, writted by Sahir Ludhianvi. With an impressive star cast such as Waheeda Rehman, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee Gulzar, Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor, Kabhi Kabhie was a commercial hit.
  • Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) – Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi, Neetu Singh and Pran, it was a light entertainer which went on to become a huge success.
  • Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978) – Produced and directed by Prakash Mehra, it was a masala flick starring Amitabh Bachchan Vinod Khanna, Raakhee Gulzar, Rekha and Amjad Khan.
