Hottest Bollywood posters of 2009

Before social networking, YouTube trailers and television interviews, there were film posters. And they still are one of the most potent elements in the publicity of a film. While 2009 might not have been a sizzling year for Bollywood in general, but there were a few sizzlers on the walls of the cinemas. We bring you 20 of the hottest Bollywood posters of 2009.

20. Agyaat: While the poster pales in comparison to Priyanka Kothari's avatar in the film, the simple sensuousness gets it a No. 20 rank on our list.

19. Kisaan: The inclusion of this poster on the list triggered a minor controversy. While some people found it plain hilarious, others here believed that it does look sexy in parts (if you ignore Sohail Khan in the foreground).

18. 99: We have a weakness for shoulders and Soha Ali Khan's does look nice with the figure 99. Therefore we have put the poster at No. 18 (9+9).

17. Love Khichdi: "Too many girls spoil the cook" and Riya Sen in a short skirt spoilt us too.

16. Karma Aur Holi: The film had some of the hottest scenes of the year and the poster didn't exactly do justice to the heat that Sushmita generated. Nevertheless.

15. Accident on Hill Road: If an unrecognisable but hot looking Celina Jaitly comes across us in any hill road there's bound to be an accident.

14. Runway: Bare backs of males can also look good and some shapely triceps just add to the sexiness.

13. Dev.D: Had we been doing a list on the best Bollywood posters of 2009, Dev.D's would've been closer to the top, but here we are just listing the hottest. This is just one of the two Dev.D posters on our list.

12. Let's Dance: We wouldn't be surprised if you said that you haven't even heard of this movie. But even some films have hot posters and Gayatri Patel does look hot in this.

11. Main Aurr Mrs Khanna: This early poster of the film is before the producers decided to add an extra 'r' to Aur. But numerology apparently didn't help the film's fortunes. This poster managed to get noticed, sans any influence from numbers but with Kareena's oomph.

10. Kambakkht Ishq: The second Kareena Kapoor poster on our list and Kareena's long legs are just too distracting.

9. Anubhav: Another little-known film with an appealing poster.

8. Wanted: While the muscles on Aamir, Shahrukh and Shahid come and go, they have remained intact on Salman Khan and he put them on full display, much to our glee, on the posters of Wanted.

7. Dev.D: The second, and hotter, Dev.D poster on our rankings. It does trap within the confines of the poster what the film was all about.

6. Kambakkht Ishq: Akshay grabbing Kareena's size-zero legs. Hot.

5. Blue: As we have mentioned on earlier occasions too, the only thing watchable in Blue was Lara Dutta and the same holds true for the film's posters too.

4. Kaminey: A bare bodied Shahid Khan galloping like a horse (he's even wearing those blinders) looking like a every bit a throughbred.

3. Blue: Another reason why we watched Blue.

2. Raaz: The Mystery Continues: Minus Bipasha Basu and Malini Sharma Raaz 2 didn't appeal us much, but Kangna Ranaut tried to, for a while, change our opinion.

1. Kurbaan: It seems that in 2009 backless beauties made the hottest posters and Kareena Kapoor became the undisputed poster queen. While we drooled over this poster, not everyone agreed and some even went and draped the poster in sarees. This poster for Kurbaan is, by a huge margin, the Hottest Bollywood Poster of 2009.
