Rajinikanth's Kaala released on Thursday and fans of the Thalaiva had no intentions of containing their excitement. Kaala released across India and here's a look at how Mumbai rejoiced.

One of the fans dressed up like Rajinikanth's onscreen character Kaala and arrived at the theatres.

Rajinikanth's doppelganger was also quite a hit with the fans. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is far, far away from Mumbai or Chennai. He flew into the hills of Bengal a day before the movie's release - he's currently in Kurseong for the shooting of his untitled project.

Fans were spotted bathing Rajinikanth's life-sized posters with milk on Kaala day.

Rajinikanth's Kaala was also welcomed with pomp and show.

Flower petals were also showered on posters of Kaala.

The release day of Kaala turned out to be a day of celebration for Rajinikanth fans.
