The annual Met Gala held in New York's Metropolitan Art Museum on May 5 was a stylish and starry affair, as it is every year.

Hip-hop's power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z walked the red carpet hand in hand, she in sheer black Givenchy, he in a white tux. As they journeyed down the length of the red carpet, Beyonce lost her ring, which was then retrieved by her husband who slid it back on his lovely wife's finger in mock proposal style.

Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o grabbed much of the red carpet attention, not all of it good, in beaded and feathered Prada.
