Bollywood actress Yami Gautam has a lot to look forward to as she turns 25. Offers are pouring in for this talented actress who tasted success with her very first Bollywood film Vicky Donor (2012). She will soon be seen in the romantic comedy Total Siyappa which is set for release early next year.

  • Yami Gautam was born in Chandigarh on November 28, 1988. Her father works for a news channel. Her sister Surilie also works in the entertainment industry.
  • Yami was studying law when she decided to switch to an acting career. She left college midway and shifted to Mumbai where she got a break in the television serial Chand Ke Paar Chalo.
  • She continued to act in popular television soaps such as Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam and was also a part of the reality shows Meethi Choori No 1 and Kitchen Champion Season 1.
  • After a successful career on the small screen, Yami Gautam made her film debut in regional cinema with the Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha. The film didn't do well but Yami was praised for her performance.
  • Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor proved to be Yami's Bollywood breakthrough. Yami starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the film which was a huge hit and Yami's performance as a Bengali girl was well received.
  • Yami then featured as the leading lady in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual Gouravam (2013) which dealt with the issue of honour killing. The movie didn't do too well at the box office.
  • Besides movies, Yami has featured on the cover of several magazines such as Femina, Wedding Affair, Women's health, and Prevention.
  • She is also a regular on the ramp and has appeared in several fashion shows and launches.
  • Yami will next be seen in cross-border romantic comedy Total Siyapaa in which she co-stars with Ali Zafar. She is shooting for Shoojit Sircar's next film opposite Ayushmann Khurrana which had been titled Hamara Bajaj, but is facing court trouble over its name. She has also been roped in for Prabhu Deva's next film opposite Ajay Devgn. She is also filming a Tamil film Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum and a Telugu film Courier Boy Kalyan.
