Madhuri mourns Husain's death

M F Husain's favourite muse, Madhuri Dixit mourns his death. She tells NDTV, "“I was shocked...it was out of the blue. It is a very, very sad day for me! ...India has lost a jewel.”
She continues to fondly remember him, "There was a little child in him, who was excited about everything that he saw. There is no doubt in my mind that he ever wanted to hurt people's sentiments, it is just perception- how he looked at it and how people look at it."

Anushka Sharma told NDTV, "Husain saab's demise last evening is quite distressing. I was lucky enough to talk to him a few months back where he had appreciated my work in Band Baajaa Baraat. He had also showed interest in painting a portrait for me, which was a great honour. May God give their family strength at this time...I had hoped to meet him sometime. I will always regret that I could not meet him."

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted in loving memory of close friend and painter M F Husain.
