Life Of Pi director Ang Lee was in India to promote the film with stars Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Adil Hussain and Suraj Sharma. The movie adaptation of Yann Martel's Booker Prize-winning novel has been partly shot in India and will be released in 3D.

Delhi University student Suraj Sharma makes his debut as Piscine Molitor Patel or Pi, the title character, who lives with his family in Pondicherry and runs a zoo.

The movie features Irrfan Khan as the adult Pi Patel and and Tabu as Pi's mother. Ang Lee is all praise for the actors. "It was a privilege working with Tabu and Irrfan,” Ang Lee said in an interview.

Actress Tabu wore a Nachiket Barve dress for the event. “I am proud to be associated with this film," said Tabu.

Adil Hussain, last seen as Sridevi's husband in English Vinglish plays Pi's father in the film. Life Of Pi will be the opening film at the 43rd International Film Festival of India, scheduled to be held in Goa next month.

Life of Pi will release in India first on November 21, ahead of its worldwide release.

Ang Lee said in an interview that he had an adventurous time shooting some portions of the film in India and insists there is no gain without pain.
