Mausam storms ahead, Rascals rule the roost

Bollywood made its presence felt through a whole host of events around the country.

  • The cast of Rascals, was present at the film's music launch. Its leading lady, Kangana Ranaut, however, was conspicuous by her absence; the producers of Rascals have admitted that there has been a fallout with the actress.

Mausam, whose release has been under a dark cloud till now, has finally found its silver lining; the cast and crew of the film held a press conference to elaborate.

Soha Ali Khan, too, caught our attention at a recent event. Click on to find out more.
  • Shahid Kapoor, deep in discussion with his co-star, Sonam Kapoor, at a press conference held to announce the film's delayed release.

The two actors play the leads in Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut, Mausam.
  • Mausam was to premiere at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival before it was pulled out at the last moment.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) raised objections to certain scenes in the film which depict Shahid Kapoor flying the special F-16 fighter jets. Shahid plays an Air Force officer in the film while Sonam plays his love interest.
  • Actor-turned-director Pankaj Kapoor with his wife, former actress Supriya Pathak. The couple are joined by Pankaj Kapoor's son Shahid (by his first wife, Neelima Azeem) and Mausam leading lady, Sonam Kapoor.

Mausam was all set to release this Friday (September 16, 2011), but will now release on the September 23, after the makers took time procuring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Air Force.
  • Pankaj Kapoor looks alert, while a serene Shahid stands next to a slightly lost looking Sonam.

Apparently, the extended promotions for the film, which has been more than one and a half years in the making, are taking a toll on its actors.
  • Sonam, however, debunks that thought with her calm expression.

    Coming up: Rascals music launch
  • The star cast of Rascals.

L-R: Sanjay Dutt, director David Dhawan, Ajay Devgn and Lisa Haydon.

The film's leading lady, Kangana Ranaut, was missing in action. Rascals co-producer, Sunil Ahluwalia, had this to say about her: "We do have issues with Kangana. She has this starry attitude".

  • Director David Dhawan is seen in the background while his lead actor, Ajay Devgn, takes the mike. Lisa Haydon looks on.
  • Lisa Haydon at the Rascals music launch.

The model-turned-actress performs an item number in this David Dhawan film. This will be her second on-screen outing, after last year's box office bomb, Aisha.
  • The cast of the film unveils the album cover.
  • Kangana is being excluded from all publicity material. Apparently, she has refused to dub for the film until the producers pay her more money.
  • Sanjay Dutt and Chunky Pandey share a light moment.
  • The way Ajay is posing with Lisa, it almost looks like a poster for the film!

  • Yeh Saali Zindagi actress Aditi Rao plays the lead opposite Zafar.

Sudhir Mishra's Yeh Saali Zindagi featured her in a highly unconventional role. She was paired opposite hunky actor Arunoday Singh and was required to perform several intimate sequences with him. The film garnered her rave reviews for her strong-but-vulnerable performance.
  • Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao look cute together. Hopefully, this chemistry will translate on screen.
  • Model-actor-singer Ali Zafar and model-actress Aditi Rao make a handsome couple.
