Meet Big B's The Great Gatsby family

It was a proud moment for Amitabh Bachchan at the premiere of the actor's first Hollywood film The Great Gatsby. Mr Bachchan posted this image of him with the cast and crew of film in New York. The actor is seen standing next to Titanic actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Spiderman actor Tobey Maguire.

"Never dreamt this would happen someday..." Big B wrote about the picture.

Big B was overwhelmed by the crowd's cheer for him, at the premiere.

"Back from The Great Gatsby premiere and has to be said... the EF (extended family) was the main attraction. Simply superb! American media, fans, security in shock. Thank you my ED, and thank you to those that cheered their lungs out. US media thought Leonardo had come, when noise went up," Big B tweeted after the premiere.

Ahead: Big B, Leonardo at The Great Gatsby premiere

Amitabh Bachchan attended the world premiere of his first Hollywood film The Great Gatsby in New York. He plays the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, a shady Jew who serves as a mentor to the film's central character, in the big screen adaptation of author F Scott Fitzgerald's novel of the same name.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the lead role of Jay Gatsby, looked dapper in a blue suit.

Actor Toby Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer were dressed in Saint Laurent. Maguire plays Nick Carraway, through whose point of view the events of the film unfold.

Actress Carey Mulligan looked stunning in a red dress by Lanvin and black pumps by Brian Atwood. She plays Daisy Buchanan, the object of the mysterious Jay Gatsby's affections.

Actress Isla Fisher went floral in a Dolce & Gabbana dress and shoes. Isla Fisher's character in the film, Myrtle Wilson, has an illicit affair with Daisy Buchanan's husband.

Rapper Jay-Z, executive producer of The Great Gatsby soundtrack, was suited up. The soundtrack includes Jay-Z's song 100$ Bill, his wife Beyonce's Crazy In Love, and Amy Winehouse's Back To Black.

Actor Joel Edgerton came with girlfriend Alexis Blake whose floor length maroon dress was a hit. Edgerton plays Daisy Buchanan's rich but brutish husband Tom.

Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries fame posed for the shutterbugs. Nina wore a short black dress by Versace, Rupert Sanderson shoes and Susan Foster jewellery.

Actress Jennifer Morrison looked fresh in a lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
