Memories: Madhuri and her father

We stumbled across this picture of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit with her father Shankar R Dixit. A much-younger looking Madhuri looks really happy as she poses for a picture with her father who looks equally thrilled. We can make out from the mangalsutra that the picture was clicked after her marriage. Mr Shankar Dixit died on September 13 at the age of 91.

Coming up: Like guru, like shishya: Madhuri
  • We saw Madhuri Dixit match steps with Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj for a mesmerizing jugalbandi on the sets of this season's Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. And in this picture, the guru-shishya duo reunite on Madhuri's online dance academy to create the same magic.

Madhuri is among the few actresses in B-town who have been trained and guided by Pt Birju Maharaj. She worked with him during the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Devdas for the song Maar Dala. Pandit Birju Maharaj has also reportedly trained her for a song in the upcoming film Dedh Ishqiya.

    Ahead: Madhuri, an artist's muse
  • Everyone is charmed by the beauty of actress Madhuri Dixit and late artist M F Husain was one of her greatest admirers. Madhuri shared this picture on Twitter from the sets of M F Husain's 2000 film Gaja Gamini, of herself getting ready for her shot watched by the artist-director.

M F Husain, who died in 2011, was reportedly struck by the beauty of Madhuri Dixit after watching the film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. He depicted the actress in various moods in a series of paintings titled 'Fida'. The painter later roped in Madhuri as the lead in Gaja Gamini, which talked about the aesthetics of feminine beauty in different time periods.

    Ahead: Madhuri: 24-karat gulaab
  • One can't keep one's eyes off Madhuri Dixit who looked impossibly elegant in a pink sari by Sonam & Paras Modi at the launch of a jewellery store in Mumbai on Saturday (August 4, 2013).
  • Madhuri will be seen playing the lead in the upcoming film Gulaab Gang.
  • Actor Sachin Khedekar was spotted at the launch with his wife.

    Ahead: Blue belles: Madhuri, Chitrangada
  • She has a million-dollar smile and it comes as no surprise that actress Madhuri Dixit endorses a toothcare product. The dedicated actress was dressed in the colour of her brand, blue, at a launch in Mumbai on Tuesday (July 3, 2013).

Clad in a Gauri and Nainika gown, Madhuri was a lensman's dream.
  • Whatever you're saying Madhuri, we are all ears.
  • Actress Chitrangada Singh seems to have taken a leaf out of Madhuri's book, quite literally, as the dusky beauty too attended an event for a brand she endorses in the product's colour.

In a filmy twist, Chitrangada wore a dress in the exact shade of blue and by the same designers as Madhuri.

Chitrangada opted for a cobalt blue pencil dress with an outsized ruffle by the designer duo Gauri and Nainika. She paired it with black Zara ankle strap sandals.
  • This is the second time in a week that Chitrangada's been feeling blue. So no prizes for guessing what her favourite colour is.

Check out - Shaving grace: Arbaaz, Chitrangada
  • It might seem that Arbaaz Khan is seeking respite from the scorching heat by jet sprinkling water on his face. But, the actor-filmmaker is instead getting ready to clean his day old stubble, but on stage.

Seen here in this pic, Arbaaz showcases his shaving skills, as he promotes a razor brand's new product at a Mumbai hotel on Thursday (June 28, 2013).
  • Actress Chitrangada Singh played the referee and checked if Arbaaz was successful in his mission.
  • Accompanying the actor at the event was also former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, who too swapped the bat for the blade.
  • Dravid admires the clean swipe on his face.
  • Chitrangada didn't let go of the shy Dravid too, who obliged by letting her check on his clean shaven face.

    We wonder, who won?
